Once a student hits high school, the focus on college or career is more of a focus. The problem is the base of knowledge for many students related to careers is limited without exposure to various options. Aged based career exposure can start in preschool and career counseling can begin in sixth grade through the development of Career Based Individual Learning Plans (ILP's). The career based ILP's would be for all students and guided by data and student interest. The ILP is a living document and would be reviewed annually using a team approach that includes the student, parents/guardians, school counselor and a classroom teacher.
